The economy has affected us all.

Despite increased consumer confidence numbers posted in September over August, the recent activities on Wall street are beginning to translate into alterations in spending habits.

For this reason among others I have developed a new website system for my team members.

It is not that I am turning my team members away from the incredibly professional and efficient and beautifully designed MAC system, that is not it, but many are just not able to afford the $49, $99 or $149 per month to host the MAC websites. Sad news.

Whilst on a glorious vacation in Europe, my http://platinum1destinations.wordpress.com blog was deleted. Ouch!

I have to say 8 months of hard work and in my opinion, some excellent posts were deleted in a blink of an eye.

I tried to follow wordpress's instructions on how to transfer my files to another host, but I was unable to do it. Any help would be appreciated on this matter.

My sadness became something close to anger when I realized that not only my blog, but a plethera of other wordpress blogs belonging to P1D members were deleted at the same time.

I do not know if this was a result of complaints or flagging by competitors, but I have really learned a lesson. Namely:

1. Host your own blogs

2. Keep your interesting posts filed away somewhere on your desktop.

3. Anticipate the worst but hope for the best when it comes to websites.

I loved my wordpress blog, it was easy to manage and was chock full of "me".

It's now back to the drawing board.

Hopefully this helps you from becoming a victim and losing your work.

If you have been looking at joining P1D and have looked from afar, you might have noticed that most of the links on the presentation and business site are now working, but other than that you might not realize that P1D is still in pre-launch mode.

If you are a Platinum One Destinations member you are more than likely aware that P1D is still in it's infancy, well maybe a 3rd grader or so now, as there are many aspects to the business which are not running as smoothly and efficiently as perhaps we would have hoped by this stage.

However, with knowledge there is a certain peace and if I was aware of certain launch dates I perhaps would not have been so concerned, maybe that's too harsh, maybe aware, about certain aspects of the P1D package.

Firstly P1D is still not fully functional. NetTrav, the travel portal will be launched on February 8th 2008. One will be able to purchase it directly from the P1D business sites as well as on members NetTrav websites at only $99/yr.

Secondly, the Concierge Flagship Platinum One Destinations product will be launched on March 1st 2008. Currently concierge is only providing Condo stays on the points system, flights and cruises can be booked without any point deductions.

I suspect that SMG (Synergy Marketing group) as well as P1D had not expected the massive success they have experienced 'til date. They have however responded with a massive recruitment of agents to help P1D members.

So if you are in P1D or are looking at it, just know that with a launch, come some teething pains, most have been ironed out, but the benefit is, as we have always heard, the early bird catches the worm.

The P1D corporate has been gracious enough to extend the pre-launch specials until the end of February. One important thing you will never lack in Platinum One, is support.

So being in P1D right from the beginning, even with all the growing pains, has it been worth it?....You Bet!

If the reader is not savvy, the press releases might look as if they have been written by the press, to indeed warn us about the goings on in P1D.

Utilizing press releases as a method of advertising has been a popular way to advertise by many in Coastal Vacations and looking at the current explosion of new releases it appears that it remains so.

The bottom line is, Platinum One Destinations has brought in $2 Million dollars since launching on January 1st 2008.

Which means....some of this money might have gone towards the purchase of Coastal Vacations packages.

I personally have never been involved in a business so simple to share as P1D and NetTrav.

You will not find Platinum One Destinations members releasing negative press releases about Coastal Vacations. All the so called "warnings" and negativity appears to be all one way?

And why should that be? I think the answer is apparant for all to see.

It is bad practice to burn bridges, you never know when you might want to cross back on one.

The home based business market is HUGE, there is enough for everyone no matter which business they choose to be in.....

In conclusion, the sky is not falling and everyone should do his/her due diligence before joining any home business.

Just when we thought we had all the technical jargon sort of worked out in our brains, up come new terminologies which will become as much of our everyday speech in a few years as cell phones and GHZ is right now.

If you can imagine little chips with antennae being able to transmit information from your pocket to any other wireless bluetooth device all on a tetra hertz frequency, well believe it, the new devices will start appearing in about 2009. A practical application could mean transferring a movie file from say an Apple TV to your favorite mobile device, quickly and securely without any wiring.

The Coastal Vacations basic membership is a combination of transferable hotel stay, cruise and stay and cruise certificates as well as a collection of 20+ discount membership cards plus other non travel related items. The bonus vacation certificates can be purchased as frequently as the member wishes, the discount cards can be renewed at the end of the one year period if the member so wishes.

For the traveler who is able to book in advance, the bonus vacation certificates offer 2 and 3 night hotel stays, condo weeks as well as cruises where the user pays a processing fee plus the appropriate taxes or a flat rate fee. Generally the licensed and bonded travel agents who secure the bookings require between 30 to 60 days notice and in some instances require a choice of 3 dates and in some cases destinations as well. As you can see, the traveler needs to be fairly flexible to be able to use the bonus vacations. On the other saving up to 75% off and in some cases more, on the travel costs is not something that can be dismissed lightly. In most instances the traveler from our experience, does appear to get their first choice of location and times.

The discount cards on the other hand offer instantaneous savings. The savings can be on cruises, condo stays, car rentals and hotels. The beauty of using the cards especially for Condo stays is that you can view the accommodations online and book the condo weeks online using a credit card. It stands to reason that anyone who travels frequently would like to save on their travel costs by utilizing the membership cards.

In conclusion, the Level 1 vacation package is most suitable for those individuals and families who like to travel more than once per year to offset the cost of the membership in the first year. For senior citizens and the self employed who have the luxury of being flexible with their vacation dates. For the business traveler who wishes to save on hotel stays and car rentals and for businesses owner who wish to utilize the transferable nature of the vacation certificates to use as gifts and incentives to build their business.

The package is not suitable for the traveler who is not flexible with times and dates, who only travels first class and is not comfortable with  requesting a discount.

Typically most business owners assume, not necessarily correctly that their online businesses will slow down over the holidays.

I have been marketing Coastal Vacations online for over 6 years and have yet to have a quiet week inbetween Christmas and the New Year.

I have had as many as 6 sales in that one week period in the past, which is always so suprising with some many parties, activities, sports and even T.V. to watch that someone would want to call me over the holiday with a credit card number.

When you observe the big picture it may not be so surprising.

Here are some reasons why I feel that my Coastal business does not slow down:

1. The Coastal Vacations package does make a great gift.
2. When all other marketers are thinking that the holidays are slow, I am still placing ads and am in visible places, so I get the calls.

4. After the month of September, more people join a home based business in January than at any other time.
5. Making more money is one of the top New Year's resolutions.
6. The home based business market continues to be one of the strongest and fastest growing businesses.

Yes, there is less internet traffic over any holiday period, however the poeple who are looking are really seriously looking.

If it's anything like last year, I expect I will be wrapping up last minute gifts with one hand and answering the phone with the other....

When doing an online search on Google for Coastal Vacations, over 2.7million results are listed.

When doing a search for Coastal Vacations websites there are 2.1 million results. With these high numbers one would expect that the prime time to join a program such as Coastal Vacations in order to profit from direct selling as well as recruitment would be over.

When a new home business program  launches, there is a lack of product recognition. The marketing pioneers have a learning and selling educational curve to contend with.

As time passes, a business name, product or service becomes more recognizable and is thought of less as a start up, but as sales increase the public perception shifts. As the recognition bell curve grows, those looking towards joining the business may feel that  it is too late to join, due to competition.

If you are looking at market saturation and competition, one should look to the large fast food chains that continue to expand despite the large number of them around. There is absolutely no shortage of business owners ready to invest a fortune into  fast food franchises.

The answer to whether it is too late to join Coastal Vacations probably lies somewhere in the middle. It has taken some time, but I finally made a website specifically for the Coastal Vacations Ezine.

Recently it seems that I am getting more and more people asking me for advertising advice, help with marketing and driving traffic to their coastal vacation websites. I have received requests from members in every coastal group.
